Services for Billie June Harness will be held 10:00AM, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Memorial Freewill Baptist Church in Sulphur, with Brother Scott Battice officiating. Interment will follow at the Dougherty Cemetery.

Billie was born September 28, 1931 in Oklahoma City to the late James M. & Lola L. (McGuire) Brewer. She died Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 85.

Billie grew up in Asher and Rush Springs. She was a 1949 graduate of Asher High School. In the earlier years of her married life, she and her family made their home in several places, due to her husband’s military service. In 1964, she and her family moved to Sulphur where she began working in the laundry department at the Sulphur Veteran’s Center. Later, Billie studied and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and continued her employment with the Sulphur Veteran’s Center, retiring in 1996. In her spare time she enjoyed tending to her yard, maintaining an immaculate house and traveling. Billie was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Gee & husband Jerry of Sand Springs, OK, Karen Collins of Sulphur and Dia Hector & husband Mike of Sulphur; two sons, James Harness & wife Donna of Sulphur and Ricky Harness & wife Stacey of Virginia; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by two daughters Connie (Harness) Stephens and Georgetta (Harness) Osban; and one brother, Sonny Brewer.

Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Redmond, Dylan Smith, Jeff Osban, Robert Hammons, Jeremy Hammons and Chris Hammons. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Gee, Drake Harness, Cole Osban, Tanner Weston, Mark Foster and Dalton Weston.
