Joe Wesley Gibbs

Funeral services for Joe Wesley “Joey” Gibbs will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, April 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Davis with Johnny Tonihka officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Joey was born February 22, 1957 in Pauls Valley, OK to Chester Hugh & Emagene (Cottrell) Gibbs. He died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Davis, at the age of 60 years 1 month & 26 days. Joey and the former Rhonda Lea Wiggin were married on March 4, 1977 in Davis.

Joey was a lifelong resident of Davis. He was a member of the Davis High School class of 1976. Following high school Joey began a 40 year career as a heavy equipment operator for Dolese. He was an avid fan of football and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His most favorite hobby was lifting weights and working out.

Survivors include his wife Rhonda; two daughters, Elizabeth Jean Gibbs and Joy Lea Gibbs; his mother, Emagene Gibbs, all of Davis; as well as one sister, Judy Gibbs Swartz of Edmond and one brother, Chester Gibbs, JR of Wagoner.

Joey was preceded in death by his father, Chester Gibbs in December, 2004.
