Barbara Ann Brown



Barbara was born on July 3, 1934 in Sulphur, to the late Robert Haywood and Nellie Zee Lois (Eldred) Fires. She passed away Tuesday, Nov 4, 2014 at the age of 80 years 4 months and 1 day. She and Charles Brown were married on Oct 4, 1966.

Barbara was a very loving and devoted wife and mother, who cherished her family. She had a God given talent of playing the guitar and singing. In her spare time she also enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and ceramics. Barbara was a faithful member of the Oak Grove Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; son, Lane Brown, Davis; daughter, Sherrie Eager and husband Larry of Roff; two grandsons, Clayton Eager and wife Deneice and Chase Eager and wife Megan, all of Roff; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; three sisters, Pansy Duley of Elmore City, Stella Hays of Hannford, CA, Helen White of Seminole; one brother, Simon “Pokey” Fires of Stratford; as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joy Baker and Robbie Stedham and one brother, Butch Fires.
