Graveside services for Betty Sue Massie were held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Aug 20, 2013 at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Bill Leveridge officiating.

Sue was born Dec 31, 1935 in Stidham, OK to the late John Turner & Nora (Jones) Trout. She died Friday, Aug 16, 2013 in Norman, at the age of 77 years 7 months and 15 days. Sue and Hugh A. Massie were married on Jan 20, 1953 in Bakersfield, CA.

Sue spent much of her working career as a secretary for Rocketdyne Production & Designs in California before moving to Duncan, OK. Throughout their marriage, she kept books for the family businesses that included Massie Welding Co and M5 Chicken Farms & Dairy. She and Hugh moved from Duncan to the Tussy area and then in 1981 they moved to Sulphur where they owned and operated their farms. Recently, they moved to the Lexington area where she was living at the time of her death. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed painting, sewing and caring for her family.

Survivors include her husband Hugh; two daughters, Lynda Blocker & husband Thomas of Davis and Lori Spriestersbach & husband Ben of Oklahoma City; one son Larry Massie & wife Cindy of Noble; seven grandchildren, Monica, Michelle, Megan, Matthew, Holly, Amanda & Jacob; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as one sister, Ruth Gray and one brother Donald Trout, both of California.

Along with her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two brothers Harold & James Trout and one grandson, Kevin.
