Funeral services for Calvin Ubert Jolly, of Springer, will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, Apr 11, 2016 at the Springer Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Ron Elmore officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Calvin was born May 21, 1939 in Wynnewood to the late Alvous “Jim” & Eula (Cash) Jolly. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, Apr 6, 2016 in Ardmore, following a hard fought battle with Alzheimers, exactly ten years and only moments from the passing of his beloved mother. Calvin was 76 years 10 months & 15 days old.

Calvin grew up near Davis on the Wild Horse Creek, where his fondest memories of life were made. While living on Wild Horse, he attended elementary school at Woodland. In 1954, Calvin’s family moved to Springer where he attended school, graduating in 1959. While in high school, he was very active in FFA, earning numerous certificates and degrees. He spent the early years of his adulthood working as a ranch hand, prior to making a life long career in the Oilfield, retiring from L.E. Jones Drilling in 2011. In his spare time, Calvin enjoyed hunting, fishing & spending time with his grandchildren. His passion for fishing led him to spend countless hours fishing tournaments with his brother Rickey and loved every minute of their time together.

Survivors include his daughter, Amy Morse & husband Jason, whom he thought of as his own son, of Springer; two brothers, Ricky Jolly & wife Julie and Ernest Jolly, both of Springer; sister, Barbara Sheffield & husband David of Thomasville, NC; four grandchildren, Baylen Bradford & fiancé Jason Horton of Little Elm, TX, Jayden Morse & fiancé Tia Turner, Clay Morse and Nathan Morse, all of Springer; two great grandchildren, Ryder & Kynslie Morse; very special niece Sara Lee & husband Joe of Springer; special cousin Larry Myers & wife Debra of Wynnewood; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews & cousins, whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Russell & Christine Phillips.

Serving as pallbearers will by Keith Morse, Cody Morse, Jayden Morse, Clay Morse, Jackson Cooper and Jason Horton. Honorary bears will be friends of the Tuesday Night Fishing Tournament Gang.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Mercy Memorial Hospital staff and Burford Manor Nursing Home staff for the care given to Calvin; as well as a very special thank you to Kristy Meeks for her compassionate care she extended to Calvin.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Apr 10, 2016 from 4:00PM till 6:00PM at Hale’s Funeral Home in Davis.
