Cecil Dewayne Blanton

Cecil Dewayne “Wayne” Blanton was born March 3, 1959 in Wynnewood, OK to the late James M. & Velma Louise (Britt) Blanton. He died Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in Sulphur, at the age of 62 years 2 months and 1 days.

Wayne, also known by family and friends as “Friday”, grew up in the Sulphur area. Throughout his life, he resided briefly in various towns, always making his way back home to Sulphur. He spent much of his life working as a handyman and mowing lawns. Wayne was very skilled when it came to working on lawnmowers. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering with projects.

Survivors include three children, Megan Moore of Lawton, Renee Rivers of Lawton and Dustin Franks of Durant; three sibling, David Blanton of Ada, Charlie Blanton of Sulphur and Juanita Hazlit of Sulphur; as well as numerous other family members.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by one brother, James Roy Blanton and his stepfather, Hubert Price.
