Charles was born April 25, 1931 at County Line, OK to the late George Washington & Tennie Lee (Shrader) Davenport. He died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Davis, at the age of 85 years 4 months & 5 days. Charles and the former Ms Zelpha Mae Goodman were married on June 15, 1953 in Ada, OK. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2012.

Charles grew up in the Ada area where he graduated from Ada High School in 1950. Following graduation he moved to Davis and then joined the US Airforce where he served during the Korean Conflict. Charles spent 35 years working at the Kerr McGee Refinery in Wynnewood. He worked in various positions throughout the refinery with his last years doing carpentry work within the refinery. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with friends at the coffee shops.

Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Davenport of Davis; two sons, Charles Kent Davenport & wife Kay of Wynnewood and John Lee Davenport of Holdenville, OK; five grandchildren, Jessica Wright, Jeffrey & Michael Paschen, Loryn Hamilton and Cody Davenport; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as two brothers Bob Davenport of Davis and George Washington Davenport, Jr. of Jones, OK.

In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Johnson and one brother, Howard Davenport.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie, Larry, Mike, Kevin & David Davenport and Steve Johnson.
