Cheryl Kaye Powers

Graveside services for Cheryl Kaye Powers will be held 2:00PM, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with Rev. Dusk Monetathchi officiating.

Cheryl was born July 19, 1963 in Oklahoma City to Kenneth E. and Betty Jo (Freeman) Powers. She died Friday, September 7, 2018 in Sulphur, at the age of 55 years, 1 month and 19 days.

Cheryl had been a resident of Sulphur since 1971. She graduated valedictorian of the Sulphur High School class of 1981. While in high school, Cheryl excelled in basketball. In younger years she enjoyed swimming and playing softball. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to music. Cheryl was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her mother, Betty Powers of the home; one brother, Joel Powers & wife Belinda of Sulphur; two nieces, Jennifer Powers-Smith and Shayna Leonard; one nephew, Cody Leonard & wife Dawn, all of Sulphur; as well as three great nieces and two great nephews.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Powers on July 10, 2007.
