Chyrel was born Aug 3, 1955 in Wynnewood to the late James Robert & Josephine Jeanette (Goodnight) Britt. She died Tuesday, Oct 1, 2013 at her home in Sulphur, at the age of 58 years, 1 month and 28 days. Chyrel & George D. Grantham were married on Sept 1, 1988 in Oklahoma City.
Chyrel grew up in Sulphur, where she graduated from high school in 1973. She later attended Murray State College, graduating with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1990. In her spare time, Chyrel enjoyed doing crafts such as blowing glass & pottery. Other enjoyments included scuba diving, shooting guns and dancing. Of all the enjoyments in her life, the greatest Chyrel found was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband George; three daughters, Kristi Upton, Stephany Parkey & husband Robby and Nina Brock & husband Bubba; two sons, Joseph Tolbert & Shelbey and William Grantham & wife Erica; ten grandchildren, Spencer, Kalen, Dylan, Brooklyn, Bailey, Matt, Ashton, Jacob, Tristen & Hailey; as well as one sister, Jamie Hudson & husband Johnny.
Along with her parents, Chyrel was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Scroggins.
