Clarence Dewayne Leming

November 9, 1932 — October 27, 2020

Clarence Dewayne Leming was born November 9, 1932 in Sulphur, OK to the late Clarence Lester and Beulah Francis (Dowling) Leming. He died Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 18 days.
Dewayne and Deborah Jean McClure were married on December 6, 1984.

Dewayne was a life-long resident of Sulphur. He proudly received his elementary education at Palmer Elementary School, prior to attending Sulphur Public Schools. Following his 1950 graduation from Sulphur High School, Dewayne began a career in carpentry. At the young age of 19, he built his very first home, which would belong to his grandfather. In the 1970’s, he and his brother Glen joined forces and started Leming Brother’s Construction. Throughout his years in construction, he built countless homes that families are still enjoying to this very day.

Dewayne was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting and fishing every chance he could find. He also enjoyed working in his garden and playing cards. Dewayne was a very hard-working individual who cherished spending time with his family. He was a devoted member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, for over 70 years, where he had previously served on the board of trustees.

Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie; two sons, Tony Leming & wife Dana of Dickson and Joe Don Leming & wife Lisa of Sulphur; one brother, Charles Glen Leming and wife Ardith; one sister, Clarinda Day and husband Donald “Ducky”; 10 grandchildren, Keith Leming, Eryn Lewis, Amanda Thomasson, Tawni Preston, Chastyne O’Steen, Haven Miller, Joey Sims, Drake Leming, Dagan Leming and Matthew Leming; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dewayne was preceded in death by one son, Terry Dwight Leming; one daughter, Michelle Dawn Leming; and one sister, Margaret Garrett.

Funeral services were held 2:00PM, Friday, October 30, 2020 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Sulphur, with Pastor Dick Terry officiating. Interment followed at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
