Graveside funeral services for David Lewis Draper will be held 1:00PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Ninnekah Cemetery with Pastor Eddie Coast officiating.

David was born October 12, 1944 in Hominy, OK to the late W.H. & Ruby Mae (Spillers) Draper. He died Monday, January 9, 2017 in Sulphur, at the age of 72 years. David and the former Glenda Sue Coast were married on July 1, 1982 in Las Vegas, NV.

David grew up in the Oklahoma City area, where he graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1962. Following graduation, he served in the United States National Guards. David spent his career working in the retail grocery business, owning and managing stores throughout Oklahoma and Texas, including stores in Ninnekah, Wynnewood, Pauls Valley and Healdton. Twenty years of his career was spent working for Humpty Grocery Stores, earning the title of being the youngest store manager in the history of their company. David was a member of the First Christian Church of Chickasha. His enjoyments included OU Football and OKC Thunder Basketball.

Survivors include his wife Glenda; daughter, Carla Perkins of Roseville, CA; son, Marty Mutz & wife Dala of Shawnee; daughter, Michelle Paty & husband Adam of Wynnewood; six grandchildren, Blake Mutz & wife Ashley, Abbie Paty, Alex Rodgers, Stevie McBay & husband Chris, Kaci Draper and Taylor Perkins; three great-grandchildren, Grant & Easton McBay and Jaxon Rodgers; one sister, Elaine Dahl of Oklahoma City; one brother, Forest Draper of Texas; as well as his beloved dog and companion, Sugar.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristi Linn Draper; one son, Deane Allen Draper; and one brother, Lynne Draper.

Serving as honorary bearers will be Blake Mutz, Marty Mutz, Adam Paty, Stan Wenzel, Chris McBay and David O’Neal.
