Doris Jo (Garrison) Stout

Funeral services for Doris Jo (Garrison) Stout will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Sulphur, with Pastor Dick Terry officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Doris was born August 29, 1948, in Sulphur, to the late Joe and Millie (Caraway) Garrison. She died on Friday, October 15, 2021, in Ada, at the age of 73.

Doris grew up in Mill Creek, graduating from Mill Creek High School, Class of 1966. After high school, she attended college in Oklahoma City. It was at the Sulphur Drive-In Movie Theater, that Doris met a young man named Gary Stout. That same young man would become her husband on May 17, 1968, in Mill Creek. In 1970, she and Gary moved to Sulphur, where they raised their family.

Doris spent several years working at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur. She also operated an in-home daycare for several years. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, bird watching, and most importantly spending time with her beloved family.

Survivors include her husband, Gary; one daughter, Jarie Sharp & husband JD of Sulphur; Doug Stout & wife Lisa of Sulphur; five grandchildren, Britney Stout & boyfriend Kyle of Davis, Taryn Stout & fiancé Seth, Jakub Sharp, Jalie Sharp, and Tyler Stout; three great-grandchildren, Hayden “Belle” Ritter, Reid Kemper, and Mason Kemper; one brother, Joe D. Garrison of Paoli; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her beloved sister-in-law, Pat Garrison.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Barefoot, Jason Borders, Dawell Blevins, Kendall Truett, Ronald Trett and Brad Davis. Honorary bearers will be Steve Trussell, Shawn Garrison, Bobby Trussell, Kyle Ritter, and Seth Kemper.
