Funeral services for Doyle Sharber were held 2:00PM, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Brother Thomas Thompson officiating. Interment followed at the Hickory Cemetery.

Doyle was born January 13, 1936 in Stratford, OK to the late Ollie & Viola Ella (Baker) Sharber. He died Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 81. Doyle and the former Ms. Marian Frances Adams were married on April 20, 1968 in Stratford.

Doyle grew up in the Vanoss/Stratford area, where he graduated from Stratford High School in 1955. In 1958 he joined the United States Airforce and served until he was honorably discharged in 1962. Doyle spent much of his life in excavating construction, working many years for Gallup Construction Company, R.L. Frailey’s and later Quickway Excavating, retiring in 2007. In his spare time, Doyle enjoyed fishing, cooking, tending his garden and mowing his lawn.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three daughters, Lynda Grisham of Sulphur, Mary Lovett of McAlester and Misty Rockford of Sulphur; four sons, Nathan Sharber of Oklahoma City, Clint Dilbeck of Sulphur, Tommy Dilbeck & wife Liz of Sulphur and Shawn Sharber & wife Maryanne of Severn, MD; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters in law, Erma Sharber of Oklahoma City & Laura Sharber of Wynnewood; as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, Doyle was preceded in death by one son, Shannon Dee Helderman; three brothers, Donald, D.C. and Hoyle Sharber; as well as one sister in law, Tawana Sharber.
