Funeral services for Easer Dewitt Reed were held 10:00 AM, Saturday, Aug 9, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Davis with Pastor Luke Panter and Grant Whitaker officiating. Interment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Easer was born Oct 11, 1924 in Reagan, OK to the late Rufus & Laura (McClendon) Reed. He died Thursday, August 07, 2014 in Davis, at the age of 89 years 9 months & 23 days. Easer & Frankie Laphane Russell were married on Dec 23, 1944 in Hobart, OK. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2014. Others preceding him in death include his five brothers, Shorty, Booth, Doc, Perry & Tooter Reed.

Easer grew up in the Reagan/Troy area. After he and Laphane married they moved to California for a short time before returning to Oklahoma. Together they made their home in the Reagan/Troy area for 50+ years prior to moving to Davis in 1999, to be near their daughters. Easer worked as a heavy equipment operator for Johnston County for ten years, prior to his 20+ years of employement with Delta Mining. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and going out to eat with his family, especially catfish was part of the meal. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davis.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Pitmon & husband Jack and Sheila Otis & husband Leroy, both of Davis; four grandchildren, Jacquelyn Burba & husband Chris of Davis, Justina Bolton of Lawton, Anita Stearman of Davis and Ray Pitmon of Sulphur; nine great-grandchildren, Matt & Courtney Burba, Amber & Laney Stearman, Bethany & Justin Bolton and Bentley, Madison & Talley Pitmon; two sisters, Ruby Myers of Mobile, AL and Minnie Tyler of Kansas City, MO; as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Gary, Terry & Mark Reed, Ebin Smith, Matt Burba & Jeremy Stearman.
