Edgar Perry Warner

October 7, 1935 — July 9, 2020

Edgar Perry “Ed” Warner (84) of Davis, was born October 7, 1935, in Mountainair, NM to the late Curtis and Pearl (Fitzgerald) Warner. He died Thursday, July 9, 2020, at his home west of Davis. Ed and the former Ms. Lola Fay Vernon were married on August 28, 1955, in Davis. From this union were born two children Judith and Steven.

As the son of a rancher, Ed’s youth was spent in several states including Texas and Oklahoma. He spent 40+ years working as a heavy equipment operator with the Local 12 International Union of Operating Engineers. Following their retirement in 1994, Ed and Lola made their home west of Davis. He was a very active Lifetime member of the Las Vegas Jeep Club and the Murray County Antique Tractor Association. Ed was a very devoted “Pop” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed following them around watching them play sports and participate in their school activities. Ed will be remembered as a very genuine, quite spoken individual, respected by his friends and family.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lola; son, Steve Warner of Decatur, TX; daughter, Judy Stutt & husband Ricky, also of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Karen Decker; five grandsons, Chris Stutt and wife Bridget, Fred Jones & wife Dana, Ben Decker, Curt Warner & wife Jamie and Jacob Warner; four granddaughters, Amber Kirbie & husband Mark, Jessie Evans & husband Chad, Jenny Smith & husband Dennis and Melissa Stover; 23 great-grandchildren, Mariah, Maci, Jakob, Addy, Brody, Brac, Bowen, Kenzie, Savannah, D.J., Brett, Weston, Avery, Zach, Karley, Anthony, Austin, Drew, Sadee, Abby, Bryce, Kalie and Breanna; two great-great grandchildren, Kenzlie and Jaxon; adopted family, Rick & Pam Powers, Rob & Marina Powers, Richard, Michel & Maddox Powers, Gary & Michelle Levin and Renee Martinez and family; one brother, Bob Warner & wife Wanda; two sisters, Mary Basgall & husband Virgil and Wanda Harp; one sister-in-law, Doris Vernon; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Murray County Antique Tractor Club, north of Sulphur.
