Ernest C Kirk

Ernest was born Jan 22, 1928 in Cushing, OK to the late W.M. & Rebecca (Marrs) Kirk. He died Monday, Dec 21, 2015 in Sulphur, at the age of 87 years 10 months and 29 days. Ernest and Flora Lou Brassfield were married on June 1, 1955 in Davis. She preceded him in death on Jul 16, 2015

Ernest spent the earlier years of his adult life working in the oilfield. He later worked for Central Freight Trucking Company loading trucks. For the past 20+ years he worked as a carpenter’s assistant. Ernest was a very happy go lucky person, always pulling pranks on others. In his spare time he enjoyed reading Western books.


Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Pereira & husband Raymond and Sonya Wilson, both of Davis; two sons, Mike Kirk & wife Sherri of Grand Saline, TX and Steven Kirk & wife Donna of Davis; son-in-law Bobby Meador of Davis; as well as, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.

Ernest was also preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Meador in 1998; and five sisters, Christine Pilgrim, Emily Bibby, Gladys Scaff, Lucille Jones & Crystal Keena.
