Funeral services for Frank Chambers will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the East Hill Cemetery in Roff, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Wilburn officiating.

Frank was born July 11, 1942 in Ada to Marion Jasper “M.J.” & Delora V. (Powell) Chambers. He died Friday, April 20, 2012 in Sulphur, at the age of 69 years 9 months and 9 days.

Frank graduated from Fitzhugh High School in 1960 Frank joined the US Navy. After his service to our county he began a career in law enforcement in the late 70’s for the Stratford Sheriff’s Dept. in Stratford, as a Deputy Sheriff; from there he transferred to Ardmore Police Dept. as a patrol officer and then became a Detective. Frank felt he needed to be able to serve the citizens of Carter County more so he moved to the Carter County Sheriff’s Dept. where he worked under Robert Denney and Bill Noland. In the early 90’s he took a position as the undersheriff in Garvin County under Bob Davis who he worked with in Stratford, earlier in his career. He loved law enforcement it was his passion and he was dedicated to it. Frank was loved and honored by a lot of people who he helped out through the years not just family but acquaintances as well. In 1999 he was forced to take a partial retirement due to his health, but that didn’t slow him down. He then took a job at the Treasure Valley Casino in Davis as a Security officer. Frank’s health did not improve so he took full retirement and he enjoyed his break from work so he could spend more time with his youngest son William. Frank was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his former wife Rosetta Brake of Ardmore; six children; Tony Robinson, Shauna Chambers, Chad Chambers, Emily Chambers, Derrick Bishop, and William Chambers; two granddaughters; Brandy Sutton, and Ashley Castleman,; two sisters Shirley Boatright and husband Don of Roff, and Doris Reed and husband Van of Ada; as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces & Nephews.


Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Andy and Alvin Chambers.
