George Edward Linze

A celebration of life for George Edward Linze will be held 11:00 AM, on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Five Lakes community building, south of Sulphur, OK.


George was born March 30, 1936, in Jamestown, IL, to the late George Theodore & Kathryn (Lunneman) Linze. He died on Monday, February 27, 2023, in Norman, OK, at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 27 days.


George grew up in Pinkneyville/Monmouth, IL. On November 30, 1955, he joined the United States Army, serving until he was honorably discharged on November 28, 1958. After his service to our country, George spent many years working for the Admiral Appliance Corporation, in Illinois. In 1976, he moved to Oklahoma City, where he worked for Unit Parts Company, manufacturing and rebuilding auto parts. In 2003, he retired from Unit Parts as the vice president of operations.


Following his retirement from Unit Parts, George moved to the Five Lakes community, where he served in various positions on the community board, including president. While living in Five Lakes, he stayed busy helping his neighbors with odd jobs throughout the community. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, an occasional fishing trip, and watching NASCAR. In 2020, due to failing health, George moved from Five Lakes to Norman, OK, to be closer to family.


Survivors include his wife, Kaye (Martin) Linze; two sons, Randy Linze & wife Lori of Oklahoma City, and Ted Linze of Edgewater, FL; stepdaughter, Denise Clear; two stepsons, James Holzberlein and Don Holzberlein; five grandchildren, Stacey Fuller & husband Steve, Melissa Conway, Joshua Linze & wife Crystal, Tristan Liriano, and Morgan Linze; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Deloris Jacobs; and two brothers, Jim Linze & wife Cel, and Gary Linze & wife Rose.


In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Manuel and Patricia Logue; as well as three brothers, Richard, Carl, and Norman Linze.


Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
