Buck was born November 8, 1930 in Davis to the late Onis Matthew and Callie Mae (Sanders) Wilson. He died Thursday, October 12, 2017 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 86 years 11 months and 4 days.

Buck grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School in May, 1949. He married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Faye Busby on March 23, 1950 in Davis. Following their marriage, Buck and Wanda moved to the Dallas area where he worked for a steel company, only to return home to Davis a short time later. For several years, Buck owned and operated a small pig farm and later a service station. In the late 1960’s Buck began managing Zip’s Grocery Store in Davis. Later Zip’s sold to the Carver family and it became known as the Super C Mart of Davis with Buck managing. After 25+ years managing the grocery store, he retired, only to go to work for the City of Davis as the city manager, retiring in 2001.

Any one that truly knew Buck Wilson knew several important things about his life; first and foremost, he was a devoted Christian man, he loved his family and community and he was an avid OU Sooners and Davis Wolves fan. In his spare time, Buck enjoyed traveling with his family, fishing and collecting coins.
