Harold W. “Hal” Painter, Jr

Hal was born Dec 15, 1955 in Miami, FL to the late Harold W. & Jeanette Elaine (Thomas) Painter. He died Thursday, Mar 12, 2015 in Wynnewood, at the age of 59 years, 2 months and 26 days. Hal & Kathe Wells were married on July 22, 1985 in Cleveland Co, OK.

Hal spent the early part of his youth in Florida prior to moving to Tulsa. Throughout his schools years, he was very athletic, excelling in football. After high school, Hal worked as a certified mechanic for Volkswagen, prior to entering the trucking industry. He spent several years working for Jack Griffin Transports moving mobile homes. In 2003, Hal & Kathe started the High Road Transit Co in Purcell and operated the business until 2008. Later he spent several years working as a terminal manager for Joe Brown Trucking, prior to working for C & C Backhoe of Davis. Due to health issues, Hal was forced to retire in Oct. 2013. In his spare time, Hal enjoyed riding his Harley Davison motorcycle, caring for his neighbors and tending to his work around the family farm.

Survivors include his wife Kathe; two sons, Levi Painter & wife Erin of Lexington and Jeremy Painter & wife Becky of Oolagah; brother, Robert Painter & wife Lauren of Homer, AK; six grandchildren; two step-sons, Colby Hall & wife Jennifer of Blanchard and Matt Hall & Kasey Sheppard of Davis; mother-in-law, Dot (Brown) Wells of Norman; brother-in-law, Chuck Wells & wife Debbie of Moore; sister-in-law, Kim Spitz of Edmond; as well as three nieces and one nephew.
