Funeral service for Hollis Troy Roden will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, Mar 22, 2013 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Davis with Brother Thomas Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Hollis was born Aug 23, 1952 in Pecos, TX to Hollis Ray & Alma Jean (Coker) Roden. He died Monday, Mar 18, 2013 in Ardmore at the age of 60 years 6 month and 25 days. Hollis and Tammie Sue Ryan were married on Nov 19, 1977 in Snyder, OK.

After graduating from Snyder High School, Hollis joined the US Army and served from Sept 1974 until he was honorably discharged in Sept 1977. In 1978, Hollis and Tammie moved to Davis where he worked as a police officer for the City of Davis. While working as a police officer, he also served on the Davis Fire Dept. until he moved away in 1992. Hollis was a very loving and devoted father. He spent countless hours coaching little league ball teams and working with, not only his children, but other children who were active in 4-H Club. In his spare time enjoyed fishing and hunting. Hollis was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Firefighters Assoc, the Oklahoma Sheriff & Police Officers Assoc, the Disabled American Veterans of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma American Legion.

Survivors include two daughters, Heather Roden and Shawna Roden, both of Lone Grove, OK; son, Jason Roden & wife Lyndsi of Ruther Glen, VA; eight grandchildren, Brianna, Tyler, Tristen, Lili, Trevon, Michael, Conner and Logan; the mother of his children, Tammie Rose; two brothers, John Roden of Santa Cruz, Bolivia and Roberto Roden of Miami, FL; and one sister, Vivian Roda & husband Chris.

Hollis was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Sybel & Stella Roden; and a very special aunt that raised him, Estelle Siegfried.

The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
