Mr. JC Voyles, age 88, passed away on April 14, 2021 in Davis, Oklahoma. Graveside services for Mr. Voyles will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas on April 26, 2021.

Born on September 26, 1932 in Wilson, Oklahoma, Mr. Voyles was the second of four children born to Otho Lee and Elva M. (Powell) Voyles. After growing up and attending school in Wilson, Mr. Voyles enlisted in the United States Air Force.

During his military career, Mr. Voyles was in Korea during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam during the Vietnam War. As a flight engineer, Mr. Voyles saw much of the world. When raising his children, Mr. Voyles was stationed at air bases in San Antonio, Texas; Charleston, South Carolina; Tacoma, Washington and Altus, Oklahoma. Upon retiring in 1974 as a Master Sargent with the Air Force, Mr. Voyles lived in Texas and Oklahoma.

His later endeavors included an air conditioning and heating business. He also enjoyed seeking out rural properties and homesteads that needed some TLC and then making improvements to the land and homes before selling. Mr. Voyles especially enjoyed living in the country while raising cattle and a garden. Throughout his life, Mr. Voyles was a very resourceful man and got great satisfaction with his many projects involving welding, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and auto mechanics. He also liked fishing, bird hunting and classic country music. Mr. Voyles most enjoyed time spent with his children and was exceptionally proud of his two grandchildren.

Mr. Voyles and his second wife, Frieda (formerly Duty) enjoyed over 30 years of marriage before his death. After living around Oklahoma City and San Antonio, JC and Frieda returned to her longtime residence in Davis, Oklahoma where they lived their final years together.

Mr. Voyles was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jessie Freeman, and his older half siblings, Zona Bohannon, J.M. Voyles and Ruth Forbes.

In addition to his wife Frieda, Mr. Voyles is survived by his four children, Deborah Voyles, Lonnie Voyles, Sharon Zeringue & husband Calvin and Karon Ricker & husband Robert and his grandchildren, Cade Ricker and Carlye Zeringue.
Other survivors include his siblings, Billy Voyles & wife Helen and Correna Pickens; Frieda’s children, Ronette Ezell and Morris Duty; as well as, numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a favorite charity or a local charity supporting senior citizens.
