Joe David Dickerson

Joe was born June 5, 1944 in Wynnewood to the late David Nathaniel “Bus” and Olive Grace (Wells) Dickerson. He died Monday, Sept 28, 2015 in Davis, at the age of 71.

Following honorable discharge from the US Army, Joe worked in retail sales and management, as well as in the oil, construction and trucking industries. In 2014, Joe retired from his position as assistant store manager of Sooner Foods in Davis. Joe enjoyed being with his friends and family, and was delighted to become a grandfather. Joe was an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation.

Survivors include his son, Russell Wade Dickerson and wife Mary of Cleveland, TN; one granddaughter, Iris Miriam Dickerson of Cleveland, TN; one sister, Wanda Carlton of Sand Springs, OK; as well as numerous cousins from the Wells, Drennan & Bumgarner families.
