John Stephen Henderson

Services for John Stephen Henderson, a resident of Elmore City, will be held 10:00AM, Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Davis, with Toby Long officiating.

John was born May 20, 1958, in Duncan, to the late Guy Orus and Barbara (Gardner) Henderson. He died Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Sulphur, at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 17 days. John and the former Ms. Joy Annette Mostella were married on May 8, 1999, in Duncan.

John grew up in Duncan, graduating from Duncan High School Class of 1976. He continued his education at USAO, where he studied drafting. For many years, John worked for the family business, Henderson Furniture in Duncan. While working in the furniture store, he did warehouse work, sales and delivery. John later worked various construction jobs in the Duncan area.

John was a very artistic individual. He was an avid fan of country music and reading. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, going to the lake, and fishing. John also enjoyed caring for his dogs and cats.

Survivors include his wife, Joy; two sisters, Mary Ann Deane of Clayton, and Cathy Cole of Duncan; one brother, Guy Henderson of Duncan; one stepdaughter, Sara Lynn of Colorado; one stepson, Chad Gammon of Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services are “Entrusted To” HALE’S Funeral Home of Davis, OK.
