Viewing and visitation for Joyce Dee Butler was held 10:00AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis. Graveside services followed at the Green Hill Cemetery..

Joyce was born November 21, 1934 in Davis to the late George and Clara (Anthony) Sweeten. She died Thursday, December 6, 2018 in Davis, at the age of 84 years and 15 days. Joyce and C.L. “Short” Butler were married on August 18, 1953 in Davis. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2009.

Joyce grew up in Davis, attending Davis Schools. She and CL had a very beautiful marriage. He always made sure she had everything she desired. She had a very happy, peaceful outlook on life. Joyce was a very talented writer, authoring countless poems. She loved caring for her cats and never passed up the chance to have a piece of chocolate.

Survivors include one sister, Marie Crandall & husband Tommy of Sour Lake, TX; one niece, Karen Kasseroler & husband Larry of Lumberton, TX; and two nephews, Keith Crandall & wife Dana of Bartonville, TX and Andy Crandall & wife Kathy of Groves, TX.
