Funeral services for Joyce Gay Bonham will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis. Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.

Joyce was born on July 17, 1935 and died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Sulphur at the age of 76 years 10 months and 25 days. Joyce and Vernon Lee Bonham were married in Sept of 1950. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2000. Others preceding her in death include her parents Jimmy and Elizabeth (Parrish) Byers and son Monte Bonham.

Joyce was definitely a people person. She never met a stranger and loved talking with anyone she met. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed reading, painting, writing poetry and traveling. She had a soft spot in her heart when it came to animals and was known for her “flashy” jewelry. Of all things in her life, her family meant the most. Joyce loved spending time with each of them, especially her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Sherry Park of Pauls Valley; three grandchildren, Matt Cravatt of Annapolis, MD, Tiffany Bolding & husband Bubba of Davis and Aaron Bonham of Sulphur; three great-grandchildren, Kaleb Cravatt and Brock & Emily Bolding; sister, Ruby Hill of Davis and brother Billy Stallings of Arizona.
