Juretta Oleva Thomas

Juretta was born Feb 18, 1931 in Davis to the late Oscar & Jewel (Tyner) Sanders. She died Tuesday, Aug 2, 2016 in Davis, at the age of 85 years, 5 months & 14 days. Juretta and Jesse David Thomas, JR were married on Jun 4, 1949 in Davis.

Juretta was a lifelong resident of Davis, where she graduated from high school. She spent many years working as a librarian at the Davis Public Library. Juretta was a very faithful member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church where she spent many hours serving in various ways to help spread the Word of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her devoted husband, “Junior”; daughter, Sandra Fine & husband Paul of Moore; son-in-law, Gary Akerman of Davis; granddaughter, Larissa Akerman of Davis; three grandsons, Jesse Fine & wife Kamatha of Franklin, TN, Matt Fine & wife Lori of Franklin, TN and Thomas Akerman & wife Shelley of Boston, GA; as well as four great-grandchildren, Foster, Fox, Kate and Elliot.

Juretta was preceded in death by one daughter, Alesa (Thomas) Akerman; and her sister, Reba Roper.

Serving as pallbearers were Jesse Fine, Matt Fine, Thomas Akerman, Cade Coppenbarger, Jason Wright and Joe Thomas.
