Funeral services for Kenneth Elton Pagels were held at 10:00 AM Friday, Aug 22, 2014 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiating. Interment, with military honors, followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Ken was born May 23, 1929 in Oklahoma City to the late Franklin & Marie (Gesford) Pagels. He died Tuesday, Aug 19, 2014 in Ardmore, at the age of 85 years 2 months & 26 days. Ken and Wanda L. Tullis were married on Aug 17, 1993 in Gainesville, TX.

Ken grew up in Oklahoma City. On July 26, 1950 he joined the United States Marine Corp, serving our country during the Korean Conflict & the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, Ken went to work as a fireman for the Tinker Fire Department, retiring in 1981 as Fire Chief, with 28 years in the fire service. He later began working as a deputy for the Oklahoma County Sheriffs Dept. In 1983, Ken moved to the Sulphur area, where he began working as a deputy for the Murray County Sheriff’s Dept. and later as a police officer for the City of Davis, retiring in 2009. In his spare time Ken enjoyed working with wood, fishing & hunting, welding and especially installing mobile radios.

Survivors include his wife Wanda; son David Pagels & wife Joyce of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Diane Hammonds of Moore and Tina Jeter & husband Rocky of Hennepin; six grandchildren, Marlee, Jennifer, Dusty, Joshua, Heather & Lacie; as well as four great-grandchildren, Raylee, Jaggar, Brayden & Colton.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Gary Pagels.

Services were entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis.
