Langston Kole Grinstead

October 30, 1996 — June 3, 2023

Langston Kole Grinstead was born October 30, 1996, in Ada, OK to Clinton McLain and Cristina Rae (Bixler) Grinstead. He died on Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 26 years, 7 months and 4 days.

Langston grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School, Class of 2015. Although his life was brief, his 26 years were lived to the fullest. At a very early age, his dad began calling him “outlaw”. If you knew Langston, you know that nickname truly fit him. His outlaw days began early. Not many kids can say they were expelled from school in kindergarten, but Langston could. He was expelled for throwing rocks at the windows. When questioned about it, his reply was he was throwing rocks at the wasps that were flying in front of the windows. Like The Joker tattooed on his hand, Langston admired all who went against the grain. He was adventurous and lived life fearlessly.

Throughout his life, Langston had many hobbies and interests. He loved hunting and fishing, especially noodling and snagging catfish, and gar. His adventures often involved the Washita River. There was something about that red mud that drew him in. Whether it was a bonfire, riding ATVs or driving a pickup truck, if the river was near, he was in it. Often, his encounters with the river required the help of his dad or friends and some piece of large machinery to get him out of it. The kid simply loved mud. Langston was a huge fan of rodeo. Here again, it involved the outdoors and dirt. His love for the sport led him to chase many roping’s and even pursue his dream of being a bull rider. Although his bull riding career was short lived, he enjoyed every ride, even the ones to the hospital afterwards.

Although he could appear rough around the edges and stubborn, like his old man, Langston had an enormous heart and sincere compassion for others. He had an unwavering love for his family and friends. He did his very best to help anyone he could. His giving soul made it easy to love him. “Rest easy Outlaw, until we see you again.”
