Eldon was born Sept 6, 1939 in Ada, OK, to the late Loyd & Vesta (Barnes) Lynch. He died Sunday, May 18, 2014 in Norman, at the age of 74 years, 8 months & 12 days. Eldon and Joy Morgan were married on Mar 15, 1958 in Latta, OK.
Eldon grew up in the Jesse/Stonewall area. He attended school in Jesse through the eighth grade and then attended high school in Stonewall, graduating in 1957. Eldon worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a member of its survey crew and later as an inspector of area flood control lake dams. His career with the Dept of Agriculture began in Ada, then led him to the Davis office and upon its closing, moved to the Ardmore ASCS office. Once an opening became available at the Sulphur ASCS office, Eldon transferred there and remained until his retirement in 1990.
In his younger days, Eldon was an avid bowler, holding a 300 series title in Ft. Smith, AR. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting & fishing. He was a charter member of the first sportsman’s club in Davis. He was awarded Top Lot Trapper by the North American Trappers Association. Eldon was also very artistic. He spent many hours tooling leather, making powder horns and turkey calls. He loved the outdoors and spent every spare minute he could at “The Cabin” in the mountains. Eldon enjoyed spending time “shoot’n the bull” with all of his buddies every morning at the local coffee shops.
Survivors include his loving wife Joy; two sons, Keith Lynch of Davis and Kevin Lynch & wife Donna of Sulphur; seven grandchildren, Brittani Bridges & husband Corey, Blake Lynch, Miciah Lynch, Tyler Lynch, DeJay Arms & husband Daniel, Dusty Baker and Kady Lynch; seven great-grandchildren, Houston, Emma Lee & Weston Arms, Braylee Lewis, and Haiden, Shiloh & Dre Bridges; as well as several nieces & nephews.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Ann Abbott and one brother, Warren Lynch.
