Martha May "Marty" Wood

Martha May “Marty” Wood was born on June 20, 1944, in Sulphur, OK, to the late Frank Richard & Zuma Lou (Todd) Husband. She gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, August 19, 2021, in Mill Creek, at the age 77 years, 1 month and 29 days.

Marty grew up in the Sulphur area, graduating from Sulphur High School. She and Mike Wood were married on April 27, 1979 and were blessed with 42 years of marriage.

Marty was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her beloved family was her world and cherished spending time with them. Marty loved hosting cookouts for her family, where she would always bake their favorite treats. She was an avid fan of her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, following them throughout their sporting events. Marty, in her spare time, enjoyed gardening, shopping, and baking.

Survivors include her husband, Mike; son, Lindell McDonald; seven grandchildren, Denny Boyd & wife Michelle, Cassinda Newton & husband Jason, and Bruno, Ava, Wilson, Kelly, and Destin McDonald; as well as nine great-grandchildren, Shania Maness, Hailey & Kylie Boyd, Dakota & Cada Newton, and Aidan, Cashous & Atley McDonald and Ivy Jordan.

In addition to her parents, Marty was preceded in death by one son, Windell Wayne McDonald; sister, Lavada Joy (Husband) Noble; grandson, Wendell McDonald; and nephew, Dean Skiles.

Services will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Midway Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Willard McCartney, JR officiating.

Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
