Mary was born Nov 8, 1921 in Loco, OK to the late James Thomas & Mamie Lee (Howard) Hefley. She died Sunday, Dec 28, 2014 in Davis, at the age of 93 years 1 month & 20 days.

Mary grew up in Loco, where she graduated from high school in 1939. She and her family moved to the Davis area in 1944. Throughout her life, Mary held several jobs, starting as a waitress at the Lyons Café in Davis and later as a secretary for Doc & Helen Webber, in their business. In 1954, Mary went to work as City Clerk for the City of Davis, holding that position until 1969. In 1985, she retired from the City of Pauls Valley, where she had worked as a billing clerk for many years. Mary often made the statement that “her family & friends were her life.” She enjoyed spending time with her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Pauls Valley.

Survivors include her son, Gary Hefley, of Corpus Christi, TX; three grandchildren, Bryan Scott Hefley, Michael Hefley & Jessica Rene` Hefley; seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Kelsey, Matthew, Audra, Devin, Reed & Emory; two great-great grandchildren; siblings James Hefley, Jr. & wife Bonnie, Jerry Don Hefley & wife Dorothy, Carra Malicoat, Iva Nell Pletcher and Delma Ann Wilson, all of Davis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death four brothers, Son, Robert R.L. & Joe Bill Hefley; and two sisters, Dimple Hefley and Dorothy Timmons.
