Funeral services for Norman Ferrell Lewis will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, Dec 8, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church of Davis with Pastor Steve Harshaw officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Norman was born on May 28, 1927 in St Louis, OK to the late John Newton & Thelma Faye (Green) Lewis. He died Tuesday, Dec 6, 2016 in Ardmore, at the age of 89 years. Norman and the former Ms. Juanita Ruth McDaniel were married on Mar 31, 1948 in Marietta, OK.

Norman grew up in Davis. During his senior year of school, Norman enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1946 until he was honorably discharged on February 24, 1948. After returning from his military service, Norman spent several years working as a roughneck and pumper in the oilfield. He later worked as a maintenance mechanic for Stromberg Carlson for many years, retiring in 1989. Norman dedicated 30+ years working as a reserve deputy for the Murray County Sheriff’s Dept. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanicing and reloading bullets for his firearms. Norman was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Davis.

Survivors include his wife Juanita; one son, John Lewis & wife Sally of Davis; daughter in law, Becky Lewis of Moore; four grandchildren, Amber Lewis Culbert & husband Stephen, Bryan Lewis & wife Kaci, Mitch Lewis and Travis Southerland & wife Tasha; as well as four great-grandchildren, Megan & Liam Culbert, Creedan Southerland and Payton Hodges.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by one son, Norman Keith Lewis; as well as an infant sister.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Lewis, Mitch Lewis, Travis Southerland, Stephen Culbert, Thad Sandusky and Keith Sandusky.
