Oma Jane "Jannie" Jones

January 12, 1959 — February 27, 2023

Oma Jane “Jannie” Jones was born January 12, 1959, in Lubbock, TX, to the late Shirley Joe “Bubby” and Minnie Christine (Sutterfield) Todd. She died Monday, February 27, 2023, in Sulphur, at the ag of 64. Jannie and J.C. Jones, Jr. were united in marriage on September 27, 1976, in Sulphur. From this union were born three children, Jackie, JoAnn, and J.C. Jones, III.


Jannie grew up in Dougherty, attending Dougherty Elementary School, prior to attending Sulphur Public Schools. Throughout her life, she was always proud to be known as a “Dougherty Girl!” In 1997, Jannie obtained her Medical Assistant Certification.


In her spare time, Jannie enjoyed many hobbies including, quilting, doing cross stitching and embroidering, fishing, canning, and playing video games. She also had a passion for diamond art. Of all things in her life, Jannie’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found them to be the true light of her life.


Survivors include her husband, J.C. Jones, Jr.; two daughters, Jackie Harrison & husband Rex of Sulphur, and JoAnn Braun & husband David of New Braunfels, TX; one son, J.C. Jones, III; eight grandchildren, John Harrison, Alex Harrison, Jamie Harrison, Rick Harrison, Madison Braun, Fiona Braun, Jacelynn Doherty and J.C. Jones, IV; eight great-grandchildren, Rick Harrison, Jr, Jaxtyn Harrison, Justin Wise, Jason Perkins, Lilly Harrison, Mae Mae Harrison, Olivia Barber, and Emma Patrick; three sisters, Shirley Wiles of Dougherty, Mary Gibson of Sulphur, and Velda Holden, of Sulphur; one brother, David Todd of Durant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, Jannie was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Johnny Todd.


A celebration of life will be held 12:00PM, Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the 12th Street entrance to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur.
