Paul was born Jan 19, 1926 in Pauls Valley, OK, to the late George E. & Dovie Belle (Hannah) Wells. He died Monday, May 12, 2014 in Oklahoma City at the age of 88. Paul & Willa Dean Eldred were married on Nov 23, 1953 in Roosevelt, OK.

Paul grew up in the Oak Grove area. He served with the 35th Infantry of the United States Army during WWII. After serving his country, Paul returned home and became a hardworking provider for his family. Throughout his working career he was employed with several companies holding various positions. Those positions and employers included welder for Dolese Brothers, ranch hand at The Turner Ranch, mechanic for McCarley Chevrolet as well as other part-time jobs. Paul was a very loving and devoted family man. He loved being with his family every chance he had, especially his grandchildren. Paul was very fond of his dog, Ratsy. In his spare time he enjoyed telling stories, playing Moon and unbeknownst to his family until his death, writing poems. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mill Creek.

Survivors include his loving wife Dean, of 60+ years; two daughters, Dianne Cobb & husband David and Leah Korb & husband John, both of Hickory; two sons, Mickey Wells & wife Vanessa of Fitzhugh and Luther Wells of Hickory; as well as, eight grandchildren, Amy Bates & husband Steven, Michael Wells & wife Leah, Lisa Wells, Carissa Wells, Ryan Pennington, Brent Pennington & wife Julie, Brittney Rodriguez & husband Juan and Kyle Pennington; and 12 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tagan, & Lynsey Bates, Tyler Wells, Ava and Evan Posey, Elijah Mikano, Zane & Kolten Pennington, Branum and Cameron Pennington and Jayston Rodriguez.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a son, Paul Michael Wells; four brothers; and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly recommends that memorials be made in Paul’s memory to the Oklahoma School for the Blind, 3320 Gibson St, Muskogee, OK 74403 or to The Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, 801 Roeder RD. Suite 750, Silver Springs, MD 20910.
