Funeral services for Phodonia W. Williamson will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Davis with her grandson, Jamie Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Phodonia was born on July 6, 1926 in the Big Canyon Community, South of Dougherty to the late Ben Henry and Willie (Scott) Wyatt. She died Friday, May 31, 2013 in Sulphur, at the age of 86 years 10 months and 25 days. Phodonia and James Aaron Williamson were married on Sept 21, 1947 in Gainesville, TX. He preceded her in death on Mar 18, 1983. Others preceding her in death include three sons, James Aaron, JR, John Dee and Ben Sylvester Williamson; two sisters, Alice Brite & Judith Hart; as well as seven brothers, Harold, Marion, Henry, Gene, Albert, Hubert and Paul Wyatt.

Phodonia grew up in Big Canyon and graduated from Dougherty High School in 1944. Much of her married life was spent as a stay at home mom, caring for her family. Phodonia worked for the Stromberg-Carlson Company for thirteen years before health issues forced her to retire. Some of her hobbies included crocheting, playing bingo and watching sports on TV; especially OSU Football. Phodonia loved to visit with people. She would literally talk to anyone that she could get to listen, anytime, anyplace. Of all the hobbies and enjoyments she found in her life, the great was being with her family. Phodonia was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Davis.

Survivors include her two daughters, Margaret Berry of Waynesville, OH and Martha Thornton of Sulphur; one son, Wesley Williamson of Cantonment, FL; 11 grandchildren, Timberly Teel, Jamie Williamson, Tommie Ann Garrison, Ricky Harvey, Erin Crawford, John David Williamson, Jennifer Swisher, Jessica Williamson, Matt Berry, BJ Pence and Jimmy Williamson; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters-in-law, Maxine & Betty Wyatt.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Davis.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00-7:00PM at the funeral Home.
