Phyllis was born Jan 13, 1946 in Atoka, OK to the late Cyrus F. & Ida M. (Russell) Wallace. She died Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Muenster, TX from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Phyllis and Lawrence Olen “Larry” Lawson, Jr. were married on Apr 12, 1968 in Durant, OK. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1992.
Phyllis was a 1963 graduate of Durant High School. She spent her career working as a nurse. She and her family moved to Sulphur in 1978. Phyllis spent 20 years working at the Sulphur Veteran’s Center prior to retiring in 2003, due to health issues. She enjoyed shopping, riding motorcycles, target shooting and cooking for family hunting trips. Of all her enjoyments, her most loved, was being with her grandchildren. Phyllis was a very giving individual and often enjoyed brightening other’s day.
Survivors include Larry Beam, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Rene Lawson & Esmeralda of Ft Worth; two sons Jason Lawson & Cher and Justin Lawson & wife Lillian, both of Sulphur; and six grandchildren, Hunter, Chase, Justin Jr., Larry & John Lawson & Lorenzo Villarreal.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Mann, Delvin Wadlow, William Bernkopf, C.W. Robson, Ronald Green & Donald Green.
