Funeral services for Reba Jo Porter will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Reverend Seth McDevitt officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
Reba was born February 16, 1928 in Davis to the late William “Day” & Faye (Cone) Sewell. She went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in Norman, at the age of 91 years 1 month and 26 days.
Reba grew up in the Davis area. She attended Woodland School during her early years and later attended Davis Public Schools. On November 25, 1958, Reba married the love of her life and soulmate, William Carl “Bill” Porter. At the time of their marriage, Reba had three small daughters. Bill quickly became a very loving and devoted father to her three young daughters.
Bill and Reba spent the next 30 years in the Wynnewood area, where they raised their daughters. It was during this time in her life that she spent many years working at the Wacker’s Retail Store. In 1999, after she and Bill had both retired, the couple moved to Grove, OK. It had been a life long dream for them to be able to retire and spend their final years together on the shoreline of the Grand Lake. The Lord allowed them 19 years to enjoy their dream together, there on the lake.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Green & husband Charles of Paoli, Shirley Crawford of Oklahoma City and Pamela Redburn & husband Russell of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren, Tammy Ketch & husband Jason, Christopher Blankenship & wife Rebecca, Lisa Zastrow & husband Aaron, Jay Cloud, Mark Cloud and Chase Parkey & wife Becky; and eight great-grandchildren, Halley Cloud, Aubrey Ketch, Sarah Blankenship, Lillian Ketch, Ryker Frendian, Mallory Cloud, Abigail Parkey and Beau Zastrow.
