Rocky grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School in 1970. While in high school, he was an exceptional baseball player. He was known far and wide for his left handed pitching ability, which he considered to be a blessing. Following high school, Rocky received a scholarship to play baseball at Murray State College and East Central University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Coaching. Following college, Rocky worked as a warehouse manager for Dolese until he began working long, hard hours on the family dairy farm for 20 years. Needing a break from the farm, in January 1998, Rocky began working at the Sulphur Veteran’s Center. Rocky was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting with his brothers and friends. He was an avid fan of history. He loved researching war history and sharing with the residents at the VA Center. Rocky was intrigued with the weather. He enjoyed studying the weather and comparing it to the Farmer’s Almanac. Rocky was a devoted Christian. He spent countless hours reading and studying his Bible; as well as sharing the word of God with others. He was a member of the Crossway First Baptist Church.

Rocky was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He cherished spending time with his family. Although everyone in his family was special to him, his granddaughter, Ava was truly the light of his life. They had a very special bond.
