Sandra Jane (Birch) Bull

January 12, 1951 — February 17, 2023

Sandra Jane (Birch) Bull ran into the arms of Jesus Friday, Feb.17, with the family she loved, cherished and lived for by her side.

Sandy was born Jan. 12, 1951, in Sulphur, to Jack and Betty Birch. She grew up in Davis with her parents and her sister Linda Birch. She graduated from Davis High School in 1969. She then attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., for 2 years on a basketball scholarship. Sandy transferred to Oklahoma State University where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1973. Sandy started her teaching career at Putnam City High School while simultaneously continuing her education and in 1974, she earned a Master of Education from Central State University. While attending OSU, she met Nolton Bull, the love of her life, and they were married on July 14, 1974.

Sandy taught DECA marketing at Putnam City High School and at Ponca City High School. Sandy then mentored many high school and adult students for further education and careers through her instruction in small business management in the Oklahoma CareerTech system at the Pioneer Technology Center, in Ponca City, and the Mid-America Technology Center, in Wayne. Sandy was an active member of Pathway Church and taught and demonstrated to students of all ages how to live their lives for Jesus. She further served her community through her active involvement in the Davis Public School Education Foundation and the Akomda Club.

Sandy will be remembered for her beautiful spontaneous smile, her easy laugh and her steadfast loving ways. She was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and knew how to “grow” a meal whenever additional boys showed up for dinner. Sandy always shared and demonstrated the love of Jesus with all she came in contact with by the way she lived her life.

The fruit of the investment of her life can be seen in the lives of her children and 7 grandchildren who loved her and looked forward to Cousins Camp, on the ranch, hosted by Sandy and Nolton each summer – so many smiles and memories. She also pitched in with ranch work, and loved “shooing” the cows along, ever so gently. Gardening was a luxury for her where she incorporated “special” rocks found by her grandchildren and as she collected while on trips to visit her sister and niece in Colorado.

Sandy was predeceased by her father, Jack Birch, and her grandparents.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Nolton Bull; her son Brian and wife Audra and their daughters Emery, Brinley and Taylie, of Davis; her son Brandon and wife Julie and their children Lauren and Jack of Edmond; and her son Aaron and wife Heather and their sons Barrett and Beckett of Edmond. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Birch, age 94 of Davis, her sister Linda Birch, Linda’s children Laura Moody both of Denver, Colo., and Adam Moody and his wife Jeney Wierman of Ithaca, New York.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at Pathway Church on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, in Davis.
