Memorial services for Shelley Fay Russell will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Reverend Bill Leveridge officiating.

Shelley was born November 11, 1954 in North Hollywood, CA to the late Dwain Daniel Joyner and Ester Fay (Billings) Langeberg. She died Thursday, June 4, 2020 in Sulphur, at the age of 65 years, 6 months & 23 days. She and John Lynn Russell were married on December 29, 1979 in Cook County, TX.

Shelley grew up in Simi Valley, CA, graduating from high school in 1972. She then moved from California to Kansas. In 1977, she moved from Kansas to Oklahoma, where she spent several years working at the Artesian Nursing Home, prior to spending 15 years working in accounting for Wal-Mart. For a brief time, she owned and operated Monogram Plus in Sulphur before working at Marty’s Paint and Body and later for Jackie and Vickie Mahan. Prior to failing health forcing her to retire in 2008, Shelley worked as a bank teller for BancFirst in Sulphur.

Shelley was an adventurous individual and was always ready to have a good time. She loved vacationing with her friends and family, playing bingo and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid fan of Nascar and a huge fan of “her man”, Jeff Gordon.

Survivors include her husband John; daughter, Heather Beam; son, Jimmy Dean Russell & wife Annie, all of Sulphur; step-daughter, Jana Rice & husband John of Kansas; step father, Larry Langeberg of Sulphur; two adopted children, Joseph and Stevie Dean; eleven grandchildren, James “Bubba” Russell, Hannah Russell, Harlie Russell, Resen Beam, Isaiah Simmons, Ransom Beam, Scott Rice, Brent Rice, Jayston Rice, Jaymond Rice and Jayda Rice; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of very dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Shelley was preceded in death by one grandson, Rally Scott Beam; one sister, Penny Kay Dean; and one brother, Dwain Daniel “Buck” Langeberg.
