Trent Andrew Bates was born February 11, 1974, in Tulsa, OK to Robert Jackson “Bob” & Caren Louise (Deutscher) Bates. He died Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Tulsa, at the age of 47. Trent and the former Ms. Donna Joyce Henley were married on June 9, 2021, in Davis.

Trent grew up in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School, Class of 1992. Following high school, he attended East Central University. Throughout his working career, he held management positions for several large corporations including Walmart, Dollar General and Petro Truck Stops. Most recently, Trent worked as an over the road truck driver.

Trent was a very loving and devoted son, brother, husband, and father. He loved his children unconditionally and was there to support them in all their endeavors. Trent was a very gifted artist and loved spending time with his beloved family. He was an avid fan of Motley Crue and many other 1980s big hair bands.

Survivors include his wife Donna; daughter, Haleigh Bates of Hattiesburg, MS; son, Jackson Bates of Cabot, AR; mother, Caren Bates of Sulphur; two brothers, Todd Bates & wife Cindy Tim Bates & wife Kelly, all of Sulphur; stepdaughter, Heather Holmes of Hattiesburg; stepson, Riley Sims of Norman; father and mother-in-law, Larry & Billie Jo Henley of Davis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Trent was preceded in death by his father, Bob Bates.

Services will be held 3:00PM, Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Crossway First Baptist Church in Sulphur, with Pastor Bill Leveridge officiating.

Bearers will be Jackson Bates, Tanner Bates, Grant Bates, Jeffrey Grisham, Stacy Schaus, Matt Burba, Patrick Brown, and Riley Sims.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Celebrate Recovery Ministries, c/o Crossway First Baptist Church in Sulphur, and Central Oklahoma Adult and Teen Challenge in Stillwater, OK.
