Funeral services for Velma Marie Noland will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, Oct 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Davis with Pastors Jeff Weldon and Luke Panter officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
Velma was born on Jan 31, 1928 in Lexington, OK to the late William Eugene & Carrie (Kizer) Cashion. She died Saturday, Oct 27, 2012 in Sulphur at the age of 84 years 8 months and 26 days. Velma and Adrian Dale Noland were married on Jun 15, 1946 in Wynnewood, OK.
Velma was very kind and gentle spirited lady. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who was totally devoted to her family. When she had three children in college she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Arbuckle Memorial Hospital and the Sulphur Veteran’s Center. Velma was a wonderful cook and shared her talent by baking and decorating literally hundreds of birthday cakes for area residents. Velma enjoyed cooking, traveling and Davis, OU and OSU football. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Davis since 1949.
Survivors include her husband, Dale; daughters, Carylon Weldon of Madill and Donna Brown & husband Lanny of Sugarland, TX; two sons, Jim Noland & wife Julie and Dean Noland, both of Davis; eight grandchildren, Micah Noland, Alison Arms, Bronson Noland, Jeff Weldon, Traci Ballard, Amanda Brown, Bobby Brown and Keith Garrett; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Jones of Gainesville, TX; brother, Bill Cashion of Dallas; numerous nieces & nephews; as well as, her very best friend, LaVerne Pullen, whom she enjoyed coffee with five mornings a week for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Leslie David Noland; brother, R.M. Cashion; sister, Lillian Cashion; as well as two infant brothers.
Serving as pallbearers will be Micah Noland, Bronson Noland, Bobby Brown, Joe Arms, Mike Payne, Grant Whitaker & Joey Gibbs.
