Violet Orlena Shepard

Funeral services for Violet Orlena (Sipes) Shepard, 96, will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, December 27, 2021, at 14th Street Church of Christ in Sulphur, with Brother Carl Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
Violet was born September 27, 1925, in Darwin, OK to Norman Edward and Alice May (Reynolds) Sipes. She left this world to be with her heavenly family on December 20, 2021, in Davis.
In her early childhood, the family moved to Hickory, OK. She met and then married Bobby Shepard on June 29, 1946, and took residence in Sulphur, where they lived most of their lives.
When her children married and left home, she occupied her time with crocheting, painting, writing poetry and gardening.
Violet was a member of the Church of Christ and her faithfulness carried her through life. Everyone who knew her knew she had a sweet and gentle soul. She will be missed greatly by all who were blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bob; four sisters, Jewell Southard, Joy Trammell, Viola Householder, and Ruby McBeth Gaines; and one great-granddaughter, Jessica Hensley.
She is survived by her six children Ruth Hensley, Ardmore, OK, Harold Shepard & wife Margo of Spring Hill, KS, Bobby Shepard of Sulphur, OK, James Shepard & wife Karen of Spring Hill, KS, Phil Shepard of Lone Grove, OK, and Doris Gould & husband Troy of Norman, OK; 10 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a large extended loving family.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Viewing will be held Sunday, December 26th from 1:00PM until 6:00PM, with the family receiving friends from 4:00PM until 6:00PM.

Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
