Vonda Lea Wright

Vonda was born Feb 25, 1937 in Minco, OK to the late Ray C. and Thelma M. (Williams) Masters. She died Sunday, June 12, 2016 in Sulpur, at the age of 79.

Vonda grew up in El Reno. After graduating from El Reno High School she pursued a degree in nursing with studies at ST Anthony’s School of Nursing, OSU Tech and Central State University. Vonda spent 60+ years working in the field of nursing. The earlier years of her career, she worked in many of the major hospitals in the Oklahoma City area prior to working as a traveling RN. While traveling, Vonda worked in numerous hospitals throughout the United States. The final 25 years of her career was spent as a RN at the Arbuckle Memorial Hospital and Health-Back Home Health of Davis, retiring in 2014. In her free time, Vonda enjoyed fishing and traveling with her friends and family, as often as she could.

Survivors include two sons, William Albers of Davis and Brad Albers of Moore; four grandchildren, Christopher Albers, Kyle Albers, Jonathan Rush and Ashley Rush; one great-granddaughter, Riley Rush; as well as one brother, Joe Masters of Mustang.

In addition to her parents, Vonda was preceded in death by her daughter, Cari Lea Rush in Oct. 2006; father of her three children, Herbert Albers; and one brother, Larry Masters.
