Walter Lynn Airington

Walter was born February 6, 1955 in Duncan, OK to George Walter and Imogean (Welch) Airington. He died Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Ardmore, at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 13 days. Walter and the former Ms. Barbara Lynne Scifres were married on October 10, 1975 in Ringling, OK.

Walter grew up living in the Clemscott, Graham and Ringling areas. He spent much of his career working in the oil field. He was a very talented individual, possessing the ability to play any instrument that had strings. He was and avid fan of Bluegrass music. He cherished spending time with his family. Walter was a very happy guy, always wearing a smile on his face and making others laugh.

Survivors include his wife, Barb; son, Derrek Lynn Airington & wife Julie of Graham; daughter, Marion Denise Pullen of Lone Grove; mother, Imogean DeShazo of Tecumseh; three grandchildren, Madelyn, Cameron & Lily Jo; as well as two sisters, Glenda Cooper of Oklahoma City and Vera DeShazo of Little Axe.

Walter was preceded in death by his father, George; one sister, Erma Joyce Sinks; his brother, Terry Don Airington; and his step-father Everett DeShazo.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
