Warren Lee Hawkins

December 3, 1940 — December 30, 2018

Warren Lee Hawkins was born December 3, 1940 in Davis, Oklahoma to the late Lester & Inez (Warren) Hawkins. He died Sunday, December 30, 2018 in Davis, at the age of 78 years and 27 days. Warren and the former Miss Lillian B. Fuller were married on June 16, 1961 in Oklahoma City.

Warren grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School in 1959. Following high school he continued his education at the University of Central Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s degree. Warren spent several years managing the CR Anthony Clothing Company at Sulphur and later operated a forklift for Michelin North America, formerly Uniroyal of Ardmore. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing every opportunity he found. Following his retirement in 2002, Warren and Lillian enjoyed traveling with their fifth-wheel. They spent months at a time in Port Aransas, TX, camping with friends.

Family was always most important to Warren. He had an unwavering love for his wife. The bond he had with his daughters brought much joy and happiness to him. Warren, known as “Papa”, had a very special bond with his grandchildren and was very proud of each of them. He was their “Mr. Fix It”. Whether it was something mechanical, spiritual or simply life issues, “Papa” always knew how to fix it, where to find the solution or simply listen and give guidance. In addition to loving his family, Warren also loved his dog “Miss Priss”.

Survivors include his loving wife Lillian; two daughters, Dana Bradley & husband Mike of Sulphur and Dena Palenske & husband Mark of Greers Ferry, AR; sister, Dixie Tomlinson & husband Eddie of Davis; brother Lester “PeeWee” Hawkins & wife Sharon of Stratford; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Midway Hill Baptist Church with Pastors Williard McCartney, Jr and Bill Leveridge officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the St. Judes Children’s Hospitals.
