Obituary for Willard R. Warren

Funeral services for Willard R. Warren will be held 1:00PM, Monday, December 10, 2018 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Pastor Willard McCartney, JR officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Willard was born May 21, 1922 in Davis to the late John Nick “JN” and Cora Lanic (Pope) Warren. He died Monday, December 3, 2018 in Davis, at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 12 days. Willard and the former Ms. Lula Belle Cruce were married on March 20, 1943 in Davis. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2004.

Willard grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School. He spent 30+ years owning & operating a Phillip 66 service station in Davis. Later Willard worked as a civilian firefighter for the US Air Force in Denison, TX. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Willard was a retired member of the Davis Fire Department.

Survivors include four nephews, Jeffrey & Stephen Warren of Oklahoma City, Jamey Swicegood of Modesto, CA and John Swicegood of Denton, TX; as well a numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Willard was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Clen, Doris Swicegood and Zora Cottrell; as well as six brothers, Wesley Warren, James Norvell Warren, Henry Warren, Albert Lynn Warren, Kenneth Warren and J.C. Warren.
