Anthony Wade Bennett

August 17, 1984 — July 19, 2021

Tony was born on August 17, 1984, to Lisa Melton. He grew up in Davis, Oklahoma graduating from Davis High School in 2003. After high school he lived in Sulphur, Oklahoma with his parents, Lisa and Jim Garrison. In recent years, Tony lived in Ardmore, Oklahoma with his girlfriend, Toni Gothard.
He worked for the United States Postal Service in Ardmore.

Tony was a voracious reader and student of history. After high school he studied Philosophy, Economics and History. He earned his bachelor’s in history from the University of Oklahoma in 2008. It was Tony’s dream to write a book.

Tony was a lifelong fan of Superman. When he was small, he would run around with his arms extended, making noises, as if he were flying. When he was older, he enjoyed Superman films and comic book heroes. Not unlike Superman – Tony was kind, intelligent and handsome. He will be dearly missed.

Tony was preceded in death by his uncle, Mike Melton of Davis, Oklahoma and Grand-Mother, Donieta Holmes of Malvern, Arkansas.

He is survived by his parents, Lisa and Jim Garrison of Sulphur, Oklahoma; Toni Gothard, of the home, Ardmore, Oklahoma; grandparents, Bill and Rozana Melton, of Davis, Oklahoma; Aunts and Uncles – Amanda Jo Johnson, Malvern, Arkansas; Robin and Rick McElhaney, Moore, Oklahoma; Bettye Anne Melton, Matt Melton, Billy Melton, Mitch and Sara Melton and Mark and Jennie Melton, all of Davis, Oklahoma; Many, many cousins, friends and loved ones.

Graveside services will be held at the Romulus Cemetery, Romulus, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
