Funeral services for Betty Ann Hunt will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 16, 2014 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis, with Brother Paul Melton officiating. Interment will followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Betty was born on May 27, 1927 in Comanche, OK to the late Samuel T. & Maggie P. (Cassity) Hayes. She died Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Davis, at the age of 87 years & 15 days. She and J.T. Hunt were married on Dec 23, 1943 in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on Mar 13, 2003. Others preceding her in death include seven siblings, her twin brother, Billy Sam Hayes, Kenneth Hayes, Kathryn Jones, Lera Leopard, Audrey Hayes, Hubert Hayes and John Hayes.

Betty grew up in Dougherty where she attended school. She worked a short time at the Sequoyah Carpet Mill in Davis prior to keeping books for her husband’s construction company. Betty was an excellent cook and was known for making “the best” hamburger ever. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening sewing and especially caring for her family. Betty was a member of the 3rd & Atlanta Church of Christ.

Survivors include her two daughters, Connie McGee & husband Wayne and Cathy Shaughnessy; four grandchildren, Angie, Sheila, Kim and Tony; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathon, Steven, Ashley, Elizabeth, Whitney, Tyler & Tristan; one great-great grandchild, Brynja; as well as one sister-in-law, Carolyn Simonsen.
